Robert and Eleanor both wore solemn expressions as they walked directly to the room where Madam Williams lay. The once quiet and secluded two-story building was now bustling with people. The elder Master Williams stood closest to her, his face etched with sorrow, and his eyes glistening with unshed tears. His tightly pressed lips remained silent, but the grief in his gaze spoke volumes.
Celeste and Louis stood at opposite ends of the bed, refusing even now to be near each other. Louis's face was cold and unreadable as if the woman lying on the bed wasn’t his biological mother. In contrast, Celeste’s heart appeared to be breaking. Her eyes were filled with tears, ready to spill over as she stared unwaveringly at the frail figure of the old lady.
Behind them stood August, Samuel, and Susan. Susan had rushed back from a film set as soon as she received the news, and now, seeing her grandmother like this, she stood silent, her large eyes filled with quiet sorrow.
