Gabriel responded to what Shawn was saying, but didn't let him continue. He curtly said, "That's enough. You should go home."
Shawn replied, "I'm not going back. There's nothing for me at home anyway. Besides, with what happened to Joanne, I want to see how long it takes for you to find the culprit."
After saying that, Shawn just sat there without moving an inch. He made it clear that he wasn't planning to leave, no matter what.
Gabriel glanced at Shawn but didn't try to kick him out again. However, he didn't say another word to Shawn either.
Silence suddenly fell. Gabriel didn't seem to be doing too well. He merely sat there, his expression unreadable. His eyes seemed focused, and it was hard to tell what he was thinking.
Shawn, on the other hand, couldn't sit still. He fidgeted restlessly for a while before finally walking over to Gabriel and asking, "Is Joanne really dead?"
