There was the sound of sobbing from outside, but Thalia did not need to go out to know that Kiera was telling tales again. She ignored her and went into her room to do her skincare routine. Just as she did so, the door was pushed open. Alden immediately came up to her and grabbed her wrist. "You got all the attention at the auction, and then you came back and gave Kiera a hard time. What are you planning to do next?" Thalia flung his hand aside in disgust. "Don't touch me." Alden was startled. He was already irritated about problems that had cropped up at work that night, and it was exacerbated after seeing Kiera in such a state. A vein was throbbing on his face. "Tell me. Have you gone behind my back with Mr. Backshaw?" He grabbed her hand again with more force than before. It hurt Thalia, and she frowned as she struggled free. "Not everyone is as disgusting as you are." Alden sneered. "You kept exchanging flirty looks with Mr. Backshaw at the auction. Do you think I'm blind?"
