Chapter 18
"There were no surveillance cameras near the pool, so we can't reconstruct what happened," Sebastian said calmly. "But I've already sent someone to investigate."
"Investigate?" Vivienne looked at him with interest. "And how do you plan to do that?"
His tone remained composed. "Since there's no footage, we'll have to rely on eyewitnesses."
Eyewitnesses?
Vivienne thought of the crowd that had just stood by while she drowned.
Not a single person had helped her. They had only watched and mocked her. Even if someone had seen what really happened, they would likely pretend otherwise.
Her voice grew raspier. "Mr. Holt, do you really believe I would jump into that cold pool just for fun?"
"Mia said you were angry when you found out I was treating Melanie's injury, so you jumped in to stage a scene and pin the blame on her," Sebastian replied.
Vivienne's gaze turned icy. "Do you think I'd risk my life just to frame Mia? Is she even worth it?"
Her voice was full of disdain and contempt.
