CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY EIGHT – RECEIVE YOUR JUDGEMENT
The next evening, Cassie found herself at the edge of the forest, surrounded by members of the pack. Sorin stood before her, his expression solemn.
"Cassie Hartman," he intoned. "You stand accused of violating our sacred traditions. Do you wish to make amends and prove your worth to the pack?"
Cassie straightened her spine, meeting Sorin's gaze. "I do."
Sorin nodded. "Then you will undertake the Trial of the Lone Wolf. You must follow the path marked by our ancient symbols, facing the challenges that await you. If you succeed, you will be welcomed as a friend of the pack. If you fail, you must leave our territory and never return. Do you understand?"
"I understand," Cassie said, her voice steady despite her racing heart.
Sorin handed her a small pouch. "Inside, you will find items that may aid you on your journey. Use them wisely. You have until dawn to complete the trial."
With a final nod from Sorin, Cassie turned and entered the forest. The trees seemed to close in around her,
