CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY – THE FIGHT ISN’T OVER
It was all the opening they needed. Cassie and Florian, now in his werewolf form, tore through the line of guards. Bullets whizzed past them as they ran, ducking and weaving.
They didn't stop running until they reached the rendezvous point, gasping for breath but triumphant.
Lydia was waiting for them, her eyes widening at their battered appearance. "You did it," she breathed, taking the flash drive.
As the resistance members pored over the stolen data, Cassie and Florian allowed themselves a moment of rest.
"We make a pretty good team," Cassie said, a tired smile on her face.
Florian pulled her close. "The best."
Their success on the mission earned them the trust of the resistance. Plans were quickly set in motion for their escape from the country.
"There's a boat waiting at a hidden cove," Lydia explained. "It'll take you to safety. But the journey there won't be easy."
Cassie squared her shoulders. "We're ready."
