Chapter 68- the confession two
The drive to the police station felt longer than it should have. My mind was racing, and my heart was pounding. I kept thinking of Ethan----my son----and where he could be. The thought of him being out there, alone and scared, made it harder to breathe.
When we finally arrived at the police station, I followed Harrison and Rachel inside. I could feel my hands trembling as I gripped my purse. The weight of the situation was sinking in. We had come this far, but we still didn't have Ethan. We needed answers, and the only way to get them now was from Adrianne.
As we entered the station, I saw a policewoman standing by the door. She was tall, stern, and held a clipboard in her hands. I recognized her immediately Detective Lancey, the one who had been handling Ethan's case from the start.
"Detective Lancey," Harrison said, his tone clipped and impatient. "Where is Adrianne?"
"She's in the interrogation room, waiting to speak with you," Detective Lancey replied, her voice calm but serious. "
