When Tyler pulled Lucian out of the rock formation, the boy struggled fiercely, like a frightened little animal. But Tyler held him firmly, unyielding, as if holding a squirming rabbit. Without a word, he began walking Lucian away from the rocks.
Olivia's heart pounded in her chest as she watched. Beside her, Mary was just as tense, her hands clasped tightly. Lucian kicked and flailed, shouting something that Olivia couldn't quite make out through the noise of the heavy rain.
