LIAM’S POV
Zane glanced at Natalie, then at me. His expression said everything—he knew something was shifting between us.
“Natalie brought up a good point,” I said. My voice was steady though I felt anything but. “We’re opening training to all female wolves. I want you to inform the rest of the pack. Start assigning times for each group.”
Zane nodded. “Understood.”
Then he turned and left, leaving the door to my office shut behind him.
The silence that followed was… thick.
Natalie stood across from me, shoulders squared, chin slightly lifted like she was daring me to look at her.
I didn’t. Because I couldn’t.
I could smell the hurt she carried. I could feel it roll off her in waves. I could feel it all through it our mate bond.
Even now, weeks later, her scent stirred something deep and dangerous in me. But I didn’t deserve her forgiveness. Hell, I didn’t even deserve her voice.
