Chapter 182 Working the Angles
Gabriel knew chasing Emily down the hall would only make her angrier, so he went back to his room.
Inside, only Lydia was in the room. She had recovered from the shock and was talking herself into calming down.
So what if they were married? Emily said they were getting a divorce, and that meant she could use this chance to win Gabriel over. Not to mention, plenty of rich couples stayed together in name only. If she played her cards right, she'd end up marrying Gabriel sooner or later.
Lydia floated over with her most practiced smile, and in a voice as sweet as syrup, she said, "Gabriel, don't be mad at Emily. She didn't mean it..."
"Don't come here anymore," he said, cutting her off. "I don't want to see you."
Lydia's smile froze. "Why? What did I do wrong?" Her eyes turned red as tears spilled down her cheeks. "Tell me, and I'll change. Please don't send me away."
But Gabriel didn't so much as glance at her. He simply picked up the bedside phone and said, "Send security."
