"Thank you." Angela truly needed this coat. It carried his scent, and she thought to herself, this must be his.
The sky had darkened, and the rain showed no sign of letting up, still pouring down in torrents. In the quiet room, Angela’s stomach suddenly let out a loud growl, making her flush with embarrassment as she instinctively pressed a hand to her abdomen.
She was hungry. Having just recovered from a high fever, she could only stomach porridge, so she hadn’t eaten much since morning.
"I’ll take you to get something to eat," Richard said to her.
Angela blinked. "Is there a place to eat around here?"
Richard had been dining at a local farmhouse-style restaurant over the past couple of days, where the food was surprisingly good. He nodded. "Follow me."
Angela took off his military coat—it wouldn’t be appropriate to wear outside—and glanced at the rain through the window, feeling inexplicably irritated. If only it weren’t raining.
