The next morning, I stopped by the mansion to grab the documents I had left in my room. I hadn’t been staying here much lately—my penthouse was far more peaceful. Seeing George almost every day was something I wanted to avoid at all costs.
The way his lips twitched in irritation whenever he saw me, the way he constantly tried to start a scene just to get our father’s attention—it was exhausting. He was desperate for validation, and I had no interest in entertaining his theatrics.
I almost pitied him. A 32-year-old man, aimless despite the privilege and resources at his disposal. He had everything handed to him, yet he did nothing with it.
