I’m wearing my tux—a black and white tuxedo specifically tailored by the boutique.
While wearing it, I couldn’t help but feel nervous about it.
The silk lining clings perfectly to my shoulders, the cut sharp, pristine—exactly how it was meant to be. I should be proud. I should be standing here with confidence, ready to walk down that aisle with my head high. But instead, I stare at my reflection in the mirror, my fingers tightening slightly on the edges of the jacket as if doing so will hold me together.
I’ve been to dozens of events, galas, dinners, press conferences… but nothing has ever made my pulse race the way this moment does. Nothing ever made my throat tighten or my chest feel this heavy.
It’s supposed to be a celebration. A day of joy. But all I can feel is this gnawing weight inside my gut.
