Chapter 1368
Hearing that, Matthew was speechless and didn't know what to say for a while.
He was stunned at the doorway for a bit, realizing the woman was agitated. Figuring it wasn't worth the trouble for just asking directions, he stepped out of the yard and made his way to the next house.
The gate of the second house was ajar, revealing a view of someone feeding chickens in the yard through the small gap.
The woman feeding the chickens was an old woman in her 60s. Holding a bowl, she grabbed a handful of corn from it and tossed it into the chicken coop.
Matthew walked up to the gate and cleared her throat.
The old woman turned around, looking at Matthew with a hint of doubt. She scattered the rest of the corn from the bowl into the chicken coop and warily asked, "What do you want?"
Matthew apologetically smiled. "I need help with directions, madam."
The old woman's gaze turned icy as she sized up Matthew. Her expression became even more unfriendly. "I don't know the directions."
