Chapter 902
Jerome actually asked Tony to treat him!
Watching the scene unfold, Ansel was stupefied. Didn't Tony just hit Jerome? Why would Tony heal him? Wasn't that just asking for trouble?
Matthew shook his head, thinking Jerome was asking a stupid question. Tony was ready to strangle Jerome, so why would he want to treat Jerome?
Frowning, Tony looked at Jerome and stayed quiet, as if he was lost in thought.
Upon seeing this, Jerome realized it was just his wishful thinking. He turned around to leave but couldn't shake the thought of the expensive consultation fee.
Just as Jerome was hesitating, a voice suddenly came from behind. "Hold on. Don't go yet. Let me check your pulse first."
Upon hearing that, Jerome was momentarily taken aback before turning back and looking at Tony.
Tony waved his hand. "Come on. Have a seat. Let me take your pulse."
Jerome finally realized he hadn't misheard it. He quickly walked over to the table and sat down.
Tony started checking Jerome's pulse, then furrowed his brows and stayed silent.
Jerome's eyes lit up. After hesitating for a moment, he asked, "Why? If you hate me so much, why are you still helping me?"
Tony glanced at Jerome and then slowly replied, "I hate you because you're a piece of trash. As a doctor, I'm supposed to heal people, and it'll be a crime not to do so. The sole reason you're receiving my help is because you're my patient. It's just as simple as that."
Jerome's confusion faded. As he looked at Tony, his face turned serious, and his eyes showed a hint of respect.
He raised his thumb and remarked, "That's impressive. A true doctor with compassion."
Jerome had seen plenty of doctors with certificates and awards in their offices, but most of them were fake. Some doctors even made it up on their own to look good.
So, he believed that doctors these days were all about money. All those merits and titles were just made-up stories.
But at this moment, such a compassionate doctor stood right in front of Jerome, like something out of a dream.
Matthew also looked up to Tony. He thought of himself as just an ordinary guy, agreeing to treat Jerome to get the medical license and that massive consultation fee.
Compared to Tony, Matthew felt like he was just a regular folk, while Tony seemed so noble.
The room was so quiet that they could hear a pin drop.
A few minutes later, Tony stated, "Your condition's a bit unusual. Your kidneys are weak, and overexerting yourself has caused impotence. A few courses of medicine should fix it, but…"
Tony trailed off mid-sentence, knitting his brows together in deep thought. Jerome understood his case was a little special, but it was tough to talk about it.
Glancing at Matthew and Ansel, he diffidently responded, "Hear me out. Have you seen people who lost a hand and got a bionic one that can pick up brainwaves? That hand can do pretty much anything based on their thoughts."
Tony was even more baffled. "I'm talking about your erectile dysfunction. Why do you bring up about bionic hand? That doesn't make any sense."
Jerome figured he couldn't beat around the bush, so he cleared his throat and explained, "Since you've figured out I have impotence, I'll be straight with you. I got carried away and came up with an idea around it.
"I had a bionic device implanted in it. For now, I don't have an erectile dysfunction problem, but I didn't expect it to be such a nightmare. It's just miserable."
