Chapter 911

Clemency Hospital was near the eastern suburbs, so people sometimes called it the Eastern Hospital. Matthew waited at the entrance for a few minutes. Upon noticing an empty parking spot, he started driving into the hospital. As he entered the hospital, the first thing he noticed was that cars were everywhere. It took him about ten minutes to get a space. After he parked, he made his way into the hospital's outpatient building. The moment he entered, he realized just how upscale the place was. Right by the entrance, there was a round reception desk with two pretty nurses standing behind it, dressed in pink uniforms. They really caught the visitors' eyes. Whether they were patients or family, all the men who walked by couldn't help but check them out. Smiling, Matthew approached the reception desk and asked, "Hello. Do you happen to know Cleeve? He works as a doctor here." The two nurses shook their heads in unison. "I've never heard of this person." Matthew thought for a moment before inquiring again, "Do you know Pierre?" The nurses just shook their heads. Matthew was dumbfounded. He'd mentioned both names, so how could they not know? Did Alyssa lie to him? That didn't make sense either. Matthew decided to try a different name. "Have you heard of Monkey? Does it ring a bell?" The nurses' expressions' changed right away. One of them lowered her voice and asked, "Are you a reporter?" Reporter? Matthew frowned. "I'm not." The nurse sized Matthew up and down. She beamed and asked, "What do you need from him?" Matthew simply came up with a story. "I heard his medical skills are great, so I came to see him for treatment." After hearing Matthew was seeking medical help, the nurse returned to her usual demeanor. "You should probably find another doctor." Matthew smiled and asked, "Why? Can you tell me the reason?" He had a feeling that there was more to the situation with Pierre, so he decided to ask about it. The nurse looked sympathetic. "It's a pity. He's actually a good doctor, but he's just too stubborn. I think something's wrong with him, so the hospital revoked his right to treat patients." As the nurse spoke, she pointed to her head, as if hinting that Pierre had a screw loose. Did Pierre lose his right to treat patients? Without the right to treat patients, he was no longer a doctor anymore. Matthew realized the gravity of the matter. "Where can I find him?" The nurse pointed toward the upper floors. "He's probably on the third floor for internal medicine. Just head up and look around." Matthew expressed his thanks before taking the escalator to look for Pierre. After Matthew had left, one nurse asked the other. "Have you notified them?" The other nurse replied, "I've texted them. I think someone is already on the move." … In the third-floor hallway, there was a table with a few folders, a stethoscope, tongue depressors, and a blood pressure cuff. The table also had an old cardboard box with an A4 sheet on it that said, "Chief of Internal Medicine's consultation." Then, there was a scrawny, short guy with a scruffy beard, looking like he hadn't shaved in days. Wearing a white coat, he sat up straight at the table. Every time a patient walked by, he looked at them eagerly. The table was in the corridor, blocking the path of the passersby. When they saw him, they quickly went around the table. He asked every patient who passed by, "You're here to see a doctor, right? Let me help you. I'm the chief doctor, and I promise I'll get you better." When the patients heard him, they freaked out and bolted away, like they were being chased by a dog. Upon seeing another person leave, he called out to the next person. The sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway, and four security guards quickly ran over. They quickly surrounded him and dragged him out. The man desperately struggled, but he was too weak to break free. He shouted in exasperation, "Let me go! I'm a doctor! The hospital fired me illegally, so I can still see patients." His frantic shouting attracted the patients' attention. One of the guards slapped the man and snapped, "Shut up!" After being slapped, the man lost it, cursing up a storm. "Let me go, Dean! Fuck you! If you have the balls, kill me right now. You're breaking the law. This is unlawful detention! "Fuck all of you! I will never forget your names—Dean Catlin, Drew Horsfield, Dustin Bowman, and Graeme Hampton! I still haven't settled the scores with you guys for the last time you beat me up. "I'll make sure you pay for this. I never forget a grudge. When the time is right, I'll make you regret everything! Just you wait."
