586: PRETTY FRUSTRATING
ARIEL'S POV
My words hung heavy in the air between us, and for a moment, neither of us spoke. The anger and frustration radiating off of us was suffocating, and I could feel my hands shaking with the intensity of my emotions.
Finally, Luke broke the silence. "You know what? I've had enough of your insults and accusations. I don't have to stand here and take this."
He turned to leave, but I grabbed his arm, my grip tight and unyielding. "No, you're not going anywhere until we settle this once and for all."
"Ariel, let go of me, now."
"So you're just going to walk away? Walk away from this conversation? What's your problem, Luke?"
"I should be the one asking you that," he said coldly and slowly turned to me. "What is your problem?"
After glaring at him for a short moment, with no words spoken, I let go of his arm. "Fine, you can go ahead and do whatever you want. Be mad at me all you want."
He just looked at me, not saying anything, and then he walked away.
