It was just her guess—Old Mrs. Hart wasn't entirely sure either.
"Stella, you can't stay in this village anymore. Charles is being targeted. Even if you're divorced, you helped him. They'll still come after you. I get that you don't want anything to do with Charles, but that doesn't mean you should cut ties with me. I've always loved you like my own granddaughter. With everything that's happened... I really can't relax knowing you're here. Just come back with me, please."
Old Mrs. Hart's voice trembled with emotion, eyes glistening with tears. She did have her own reasons—having Stella at home was safer, and maybe, just maybe, there was still hope for her and Charles.
"Let me think about it," Stella replied. She didn't want to say no right away. It wasn't safe here anymore, but she really didn't want to get involved with Charles again.
"I don't live at the old place," Charles chimed in, clearly trying to make it easier for her to agree. Old Mrs. Hart nudged her again, gently persuading
