Olivia didn't bother taking any masks—she was just typing away on her phone.
Liliana pulled a box from the crate and walked over.
"This brand's face masks are really good. Thought I'd grab one for you," she said, handing her one.
Olivia glanced at her coolly, then knocked it from her hand without hesitation.
She'd heard what Liliana had said earlier.
With a mocking look, she sneered, "So this mask is what, a flex?"
She totally misread Liliana's intention.
"I wasn't trying to show off," Liliana replied, her tone calm.
Olivia gave a cold scoff, the disbelief on her face plain as day.
"There's no way you got that endorsement fair and square. That whole 'audition' crap was just for show. It was rigged for you from the start."
Olivia had been at the company the afternoon before, stopping by the event hall and accidentally overheard some big shots talking.
