Chapter 153: What Kind of Monstrous Woman is She?
The livestream was flooded with comments as they flashed across the screen.
Sol sneered maliciously, "This is perfect! It's more fun when they're still conscious!"
Meanwhile, Mag and the village chief's wife shared a laugh, while Edward's wife cowered in the corner, tears welling in her eyes.
Irene raised an eyebrow in surprise, "I've been drugged?"
Ada, clutching her backpack in the corner, couldn't help but chuckle.
Irene had undergone professional poison training; this kind of sedative couldn't affect her at all.
Irene let out a soft, dismissive laugh and looked at Sol indifferently. "As a government employee, don’t you feel ashamed doing something like this?"
Sol, unfazed and unashamed, let out a cold laugh. He impatiently began unbuttoning his shirt, clearly ready to pounce.
A breathtaking smile spread across Irene’s face. "Friends in the livestream, did you hear that?"
[We heard it!]
[Yes, we all heard it! We can testify for the streamer!]
[Right! We can be witnesses!]
[Streamer, why did you reveal yourself all of a sudden? Don’t do anything rash!]
[It’s too dangerous! Get out of there, quick!]
[But the streamer has a little girl with her, and now there's a pregnant woman too. What should she do?]
[If you ask me, the streamer should just leave them behind and escape! If she escapes, there might be a chance to rescue the others later!]
[But the little girl was brought there by the streamer! If she leaves her, she'll definitely be sold off!]
[But if the streamer doesn’t run, they’ll all be doomed! None of them will escape!]
[Where are the police? Why aren’t they there yet? It’s been so long!]
[Brothers and sisters! We can’t let the good suffer! If the streamer gets hurt, we must file complaints with the government about the police’s slow response!]
[I agree!]
[I do too!]
Meanwhile, inside the house, everyone exchanged uneasy glances.
They had no idea who Irene was speaking to.
Mag was the first to catch on!
Joanna had mentioned that Irene had a livestream that was very popular! Could she be streaming now?
Mag shouted her thoughts out loud, panicking but also clinging to the hope that Irene was bluffing—they hadn’t seen her holding a phone, after all. Maybe she was just trying to scare them!
Sol frowned, feeling a bad premonition. "What livestream? What’s she using to stream?"
Klan frowned as he scrutinized Irene.
She was dressed in tight clothing, leaving no visible place to hide a camera.
Klan turned to Mag to discuss their next move.
But before he could, Mag suddenly collapsed to the ground.
Klan was terrified.
"Mag? Mag! What’s wrong with you?"
"Mag!"
"Don’t scare us like that!"
Irene chuckled softly, standing calmly in the center of the room, not attempting to hide or flee. Her expression was serene as she said, "The drug is taking effect now. When you picked me up, didn’t you know who I was? I could smell the chemicals in your car and the drugs in the drinks right away."
Sol suddenly understood everything.
This girl was not ordinary.
She was the first woman in all these years to be this difficult to handle!
The village chief and Klan exchanged glances, and Edward and Sol moved in closer to Irene, planning to take her down together.
But before they could even make a move, Irene struck first!
They didn’t even see what happened before they were all kicked away, crashing heavily against the walls!
As she moved, Irene’s long hair swept through the air in a graceful arc.
And with that one move, Irene didn’t hold back at all!
The men slumped against the walls, utterly drained of strength, unable to stand. Even their breathing was tinged with the metallic taste of blood.
They looked at Irene in terror.
What was happening?
Seeing the men in such a state, the village chief’s wife and Mag, who were usually the ones getting beaten, trembled with fear.
They knew they were no match for four men, especially two strong ones!
Mag was shaking all over.
Weren’t her adoptive parents supposed to have abandoned her? Wasn’t she just living with her grandmother?
How did she suddenly become so cunning, so strong?
At that moment, the men started feeling dizzy, the room spinning around them.
Sol used the last bit of his strength to shout, "You ate the food! How do you have so much strength left?"
Irene smiled faintly.
She circled around them, and even though they were too weak to stand, they instinctively tried to back away from her, using their elbows and feet to crawl away.
"Those drugs? I usually eat them like snacks."
From the corner, there was a light laugh.
Irene’s sharp eyes darted towards the door, catching a glimpse of a shadow.
With those people immobilized, Irene calmly walked to the door and, standing between the living room and the hallway, saw Saryon supporting Margo.
Irene raised an eyebrow, "Saryon, is Margo okay?"
Saryon glanced at Irene without speaking, while Margo smiled at her and said, "I’m fine! I’m going to bed now!"
Irene sighed softly.
Margo had her good qualities, but she didn’t seem like an adult.
Whose child was she carrying? Did she only feel safe when Saryon was around?
Ordinarily, someone in her situation would have already packed up and fled, hiding in the mountains until the police arrived, then heading to town to take a train away from this cursed place.
But figuring out whose child it was wouldn’t be difficult.
If it weren’t for some special reason, Irene couldn’t believe Saryon would be so good to Margo.
Not only did he risk offending their middleman, but he also carefully and gently took care of her.
The village chief's face was dark, a storm brewing. In all his years, he had never been so wrong about someone. "What’s going on with you two? You didn’t know any of this?"
Irene laughed, and at that moment, she no longer resembled an innocent schoolgirl. For the first time, she revealed the aura of someone seasoned in battle, her entire stance transforming.
It was a stance unique to those prepared for combat, commonly seen among soldiers, police officers, and mercenaries—a stance that readied them for action at any moment.
"Of course they didn’t know."
This was bad!
Mag felt like her heart was bleeding.
If she had known it would come to this, they would never have brought Irene back!
This was all Joanna’s fault!
How dare she not tell them everything!
They weren’t prepared at all!
Sol said coldly, "You’d better let us go, or you won’t make it out of this village alive!"
