Chapter 50: No More Norman Family Cases
The butler smiled and said, "Thank you, miss. I'll have the food brought up right away. Please, have a bite first."
Helen watched enviously as the young girl left, surrounded by the crowd.
The butler did not follow the girl to the private room.
Passing by Helen, she said to the bodyguard, "Tell Assistant Barton to let the young detective rest in the lobby for a bit and come over after the miss has finished her meal."
Detective?
Helen thought of the detective contest her daughter had participated in.
Who could be so lucky to connect with such a prominent figure?
However, the bodyguard did not want to take on this task.
The bodyguard was from the Norman family and had participated in the rescue of young Master Palmer. He knew how much the Norman family valued Irene and how fond Robertson was of this young junior.
He didn't want to offend anyone: "I think Assistant Barton might be quite anxious. I don't have enough persuasive power alone. Please come with me."
The smile on the butler Hanni Quirk's face faded: "It's just a little detective who hasn't even finished high school yet. She's only here because she couldn't refuse. What's the big deal if she waits a bit?"
The bodyguard thought, "That little detective is someone Robertson treats very politely. What's the harm in waiting a little?"
"I'm here to work, not to take the blame for you."
Seeing the bodyguard still unwilling, Hanni's face darkened, filled with frustration.
"Who does she think she is? Just here to play around and acting so arrogant!"
"That Alice has a screw loose. Around her, I can make most decisions and even dine with her."
"Who is she to delay my meal?"
In the clubhouse lobby.
Irene and Assistant Barton had been waiting for twenty minutes.
Assistant Barton anxiously paced back and forth.
As he walked, he suddenly stumbled, almost falling to the ground, visibly dejected.
Irene frowned slightly, stood up from the sofa, and squeezed Assistant Barton's joints with her hand.
Assistant Barton winced in pain: "Don't touch! It hurts!"
Irene stood up: "Assistant Barton, you have joint problems from overexercising. It's affecting your mood. Have you been exercising lately?"
Assistant Barton: "Yes, since yesterday. My joints have been hurting."
Irene said, "You need to rest for a while, or it will affect your health. If it still hurts after a few days of rest, you need to go to the hospital for a check-up."
Assistant Barton nodded, smiling sheepishly: "I thought I was done for! I searched online, and all I saw were severe illnesses! If you hadn't said so, I would have rushed to the hospital for a CT scan this afternoon!"
"This is the fitness plan and detailed exercise list I recommended to my students before." Irene thought for a moment, took out a few sheets of paper from her bag, and wrote on them.
Assistant Barton took the paper.
Originally, he was here to see Miss Alice, but he got helped first.
To be honest, after Irene squeezed a few times, his joints really didn't hurt as much.
Assistant Barton couldn't help but speak his mind.
Irene smiled: "I just used a massage technique I learned from a master in T country. I'm glad it worked."
Assistant Barton thanked her profusely, and Irene smiled, saying it was nothing.
When Hanni came out to greet them, this was the scene she saw.
Irene stood straight, wearing a jacket with a black vest underneath, black jeans, and black combat boots, making her legs look long and strong. Her long hair was tied up in a ponytail, and when she looked up, she was stunningly beautiful.
Hanni's first sight was of Irene.
She didn't like Irene because Irene's beauty was very aggressive.
As they approached, the bodyguard greeted with a smile: "Assistant Barton, Miss Irene, you're here. Please come in. The miss is waiting inside."
"What's this young girl's name?" Hanni smiled, but her eyes couldn't hide the disdain and disgust.
Irene immediately noticed the contempt behind her fake smile.
She glanced at Hanni indifferently without speaking.
Hanni saw Irene's apparent distraction, feeling even more displeased.
"What little detective?"
"How old is she? Hasn't even finished high school!"
"Look at what she's wearing, neither male nor female, could she be a fraud?"
"Well, it makes sense. Mr. Robertson is getting old."
"Getting deceived is normal."
Irene's silence made Hanni's smile fade, and she became furious: "You..."
Being with Miss Alice, the Norman family treated her well and respectfully to ensure she treated the miss kindly. Outside, no one dared disrespect her like this! But here, this young girl dared not give her face!
But before Hanni could explode, Assistant Barton stepped in front of Irene, smiling warmly: "Housekeeper Hanni, where's Miss Alice? Let's not chit-chat and go see Miss Alice directly!"
Hanni took a deep breath.
She rudely said, "Assistant Barton, who do you think Miss Alice is? Anyone can see her at will?"
Assistant Barton heard this and his smile disappeared, becoming stern: "Housekeeper Hanni! Watch your tone! Irene is here for psychological counseling for Miss Alice, invited by the boss!"
Hanni seized the opportunity: "Irene? You two are close? Well, then I want to ask, does Irene have a psychology qualification certificate? If not, I will suspect you two are conspiring to deceive Mr. Robertson and Miss Alice!"
"The Norman family has been kind to me, and I will not allow this!"
The bodyguard quietly distanced himself from Hanni, retreating several steps to the wall.
He looked at Hanni with admiration.
So brave!
Assistant Barton is Robertson's most trusted assistant! You dare to confront him?
Hanni wasn't usually this foolish.
But her biggest weakness was her high self-esteem, losing her mind when emotionally charged.
Assistant Barton turned red with anger.
His joints already hurt, and now his mood was thoroughly ruined.
Unfortunately, Hanni wasn't strictly a Norman family member. She came to the Norman family with Miss Alice, actually from the Raphael family.
For a moment, Assistant Barton didn't know what to do.
Suddenly, Irene laughed.
The bodyguard hugged the wall, pretending to be invisible.
He had seen that night, though Irene looked slender, she was incredibly strong!
Housekeeper Hanni was doomed.
"No need. From now on, no more cases from the Norman family."
Irene sneered, drinking her homemade fruit tea.
It was brewed by Madame Kashi, excellent for clearing heat and cooling down.
With this statement, not only Assistant Barton but even the bodyguard's legs went weak.
Such a smart detective, usually solving problems with a few words from them. Like Palmer, if Irene hadn't promptly deduced the kidnapper's location, the Norman family would have lost both money and their child.
Such talent couldn't be offended.
However, Hanni sneered: "Who do you think you are, little girl? Many people want to work for the Norman family. We don't need you!"
