Chapter 63: Alice Goes Mad
Hanni walked briskly, feeling smug. According to Eastern wisdom, she had devised a plan that would kill two birds with one stone!
Recently, the young lady had been misbehaving again, and this was the perfect opportunity to let the bodyguards offend her, shifting her anger onto someone else. Moreover, the bodyguards had been increasingly disrespectful towards her. This was the perfect chance to discipline them.
Looking for someone to ask for directions, she noticed the door of a nearby small courtyard opening. She glanced over and saw Irene’s face, which she found particularly detestable.
Irene held a stand in her hand, seemingly ignoring Hanni, and waved to someone behind her.
Yuna’s loud voice echoed, “Irene, is this another client coming to discuss a plan? How much do you think her outfit costs? I saw a similar one at a second-hand store for 100 Q yuan!”
Hanni had been enjoying Yuna’s flattery, but her face darkened at the last sentence.
“Poor thing! I’m not like you, who would feel distressed spending a hundred bucks! This outfit cost me several thousand Q yuan from a brand store!” Hanni’s face turned red with anger.
Irene chuckled, barely able to contain her laughter.
Yuna, who was not very sensitive and straightforward, responded, “But look at the holes in your clothes. Isn’t that second-hand?”
Hanni trembled with rage. “You idiot! This is designed by a fashion designer! Do you even know what wasteland style is?”
Yuna whispered in Irene’s ear, “Wasteland style? More like homeless style. Wear it for a few days, and you’ll look like a vagrant.”
Hanni snorted coldly, “What would a poor black girl know? Pathetic.”
Then she turned to Irene with a haughty, condescending smile. “Miss Irene, I apologize for offending you at the club last time. Please come back with me to treat Miss Alice. I hope you won’t delay her condition.”
After speaking, Hanni turned around.
The bodyguards approached, handing over several exquisitely packaged gift boxes.
Hanni glanced around the old Kashi mansion and said, “I see your living conditions aren’t great. If you come with me now, I can offer you an additional 100,000 Q yuan.”
Despite her apology, Hanni’s tone was commanding and condescending, as if she was certain Irene wouldn’t refuse.
Irene looked at her calmly, holding back the angry Yuna.
If Yuna rushed over now, Hanni would likely charge her with attempted murder.
Irene glanced behind and said, “Emma.”
Hanni barely saw anything before she was forcefully pushed aside, ending up outside the courtyard in an instant.
She looked blankly at the slim girl who appeared in front of her.
The girl was slender and cute, with a round face and delicate features. The only incongruity was her eyes, which were cold and fierce, like those of a beast.
The bodyguards, who had been reluctant to intervene, stood back even further after seeing Emma’s strength.
Hanni tried to push past Emma into the courtyard but found herself unable to move the girl.
Irene watched Hanni with a faint smile, making Hanni feel like a monkey in a zoo being observed.
Frustrated, Hanni shouted, “Are you just going to stand there?”
The bodyguards exchanged glances, thinking this woman was crazy. What would going into the courtyard accomplish? Even if she did, would Irene follow her to treat the young lady?
Hanni was furious, stomping her foot and shouting at the bodyguards, “Go get Miss Alice!”
None of the bodyguards moved.
Hanni felt mocked by Irene’s gaze and, abandoning her initial plan to have the bodyguards offend Alice, rushed back to the car. She yanked Alice out, dragging her by the wrist to the old Kashi mansion.
Alice kept her head down, her heavy hair covering her eyes.
Emma blinked in confusion, sensing a deathly aura from Alice.
Hanni released Alice’s hand roughly, her tone sarcastic. “Miss, you should say something. We’re here for your treatment.”
Alice remained silent.
Suddenly, Hanni leaned close to Alice, causing Alice’s back to arch sharply like a bowstring.
The bodyguards surrounded Hanni. “What are you doing? Did you hurt Miss Alice?”
Hanni smiled falsely. “Oh? Miss, did I hurt you?”
Alice, head bowed, shook her head slightly.
The bodyguards spoke tenderly, “Miss, don’t be afraid! Just say the word. We are here to protect you!”
Alice stayed silent, her head down.
Hanni laughed coldly. “Don’t believe me? Want to check?”
The bodyguards were furious.
There was no way to check, as Hanni had pinched Alice’s back, covered by her clothes.
A group of men couldn’t possibly check that.
Hanni smirked, then said, “Miss, she refuses to treat you. What do you want to do?”
To everyone’s surprise, Alice, who had been standing still like a puppet, suddenly drew a hidden pistol from her waist.
In the blink of an eye, Irene knocked Alice’s hand away and kicked the gun, sending it flying.
The bodyguards quickly restrained Alice, but Irene’s swift action had already defused the dangerous situation before they could react.
Thinking back, they still felt a lingering fear.
The gun spun in the air before falling to the ground, shattered.
The bodyguards, sweating, stared at the broken gun, revealing its various components.
Irene had used such force that even the gun’s handle was shattered.
Irene glanced at the pieces, a thoughtful look in her eyes.
The gun was of high quality, well-made, but there was an additional component that didn’t belong, making Irene think of something.
The sound of the gun breaking left Hanni stunned. She belatedly screamed.
Alice returned to her puppet-like state. After a few minutes, seeing no one paying attention to her, she slowly moved toward the luxury car, opened the door, and got in.
Hanni shook her head frantically. “This has nothing to do with me!”
Irene coldly looked at her, patted her shoulder, and said something.
Hanni trembled, didn’t say a word, and quickly left, almost running away.
