Chapter 67: We Are in Love
"Are you in a meeting?" Irene asked, scanning the surroundings with a raised eyebrow.
Stefan smiled, "Of course not, I'm just taking a break."
The foreigners in the room began to chuckle quietly. Stefan glanced at them, raising an eyebrow, and they all raised their hands, barely suppressing their smiles.
Stefan gave his assistant, Walter, a look. Walter nodded and began finishing the remaining work with the other shareholders.
The translator stepped out of the room.
Stefan switched to speaking Q-language with Irene.
The foreign partners continued their work, listening to Stefan speak to Irene in a gentle, amused tone, marveling at the power of love.
"What's up?"
Irene smiled softly, "Nothing much, Grandma wants you to come over again so she can cook for you."
Stefan's eyes sparkled, his blue eyes looking like shallow sea water in the sunlight. He smiled, hard to tell if it was teasing or genuine joy, "I miss Grandma too."
Very smooth.
Irene turned her phone to show Madame Kashi, "Grandma is here."
Stefan straightened up and greeted with a smile, "Hello, Grandma."
Irene glanced at Madame Kashi, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Madame Kashi realized Irene had caught on to her intentions. Embarrassed, she smiled at Stefan, "Hello, when are you coming back? I'll have Irene pick you up."
She then looked at Irene reproachfully, "You child, why are you hiding your relationship?"
Stefan laughed, "Grandma, she says I'm still on probation. I guess that's why she hasn't told you."
Irene raised an eyebrow.
That was a bit much.
But Madame Kashi believed it, "It's alright, Stefan. Don't listen to her. Probation or not, come back and I'll cook for you!"
Stefan smiled.
He hadn't spent time with an elderly woman for a long time. The thought of Madame Kashi's cooking brought memories of his mother's meals.
Quickly regaining his composure, he said, "Thank you, Grandma."
Then, Irene heard him whisper to Madame Kashi, "Please say nice things about me to Irene."
Irene was speechless.
Was he getting too into the role?
Madame Kashi laughed and agreed.
To prevent Stefan from saying anything more shocking, Irene said, "Grandma, let me talk to him for a bit."
Madame Kashi nodded, thoughtfully closing the door for Irene.
She turned away with a smile.
Young couples need their private conversations.
But Madame Kashi, still childlike, peeked through the window with a mischievous smile, making no effort to hide.
Her eyes met Irene's through the window.
Irene was helpless.
She knew Madame Kashi could read lips.
"Forget it, we'll talk when you get back," she said.
Stefan laughed softly, his voice low and seductive, "Alright, anything for you, girlfriend."
Irene hung up and rubbed her ears.
His voice was truly enchanting, especially when amplified by the phone, making the sensual tremor irresistible.
Irene texted Stefan, "Thank you."
Stefan quickly replied, "No problem, just playing along."
Stefan, reading Irene's message, sat on the sofa, lost in thought.
His expression shifted from happy and envious to sorrowful and finally to bitter hatred.
He once had such warm family moments.
"Hey, are you okay?" a partner asked.
Stefan smiled, "I'm fine, thank you."
When no one was looking, Stefan took a sip of champagne, his eyes darkening.
No rush, he had already dealt with one.
The rest wouldn't get far.
After the meeting, Stefan declined an invitation to a bar.
His partner, understanding, said, "I get it, you're a family man. You shouldn't go to such places. Mr. Stefan, you're a good man."
Stefan smiled.
Assistant Walter sensed his boss's good mood and glanced at him through the rearview mirror, unexpectedly meeting his gaze.
Nothing is worse than being caught spying on your boss.
Walter forced a smile.
"Later, find some designers for high-end women's fashion. I'll give you the measurements for custom-made outfits," Stefan suddenly said.
Walter sighed in relief, replying professionally, "Understood."
Was this for Miss Marta?
No, Miss Marta had her own favorite brands, known to the boss.
So, who was it for?
The woman who called earlier?
"Deliver them to Kashi Mansion, West District B098."
Before Walter could react, Stefan added, "And buy a bouquet, not too flashy, maybe small flowers. Sign it 'boyfriend.'"
Walter's hand slipped, making the car swerve.
Stefan frowned, looking coldly at Walter.
Unprofessional.
Walter, sweating, said, "Understood."
At this moment.
In A City's most bustling district, the North District.
Government officials and numerous entrepreneurs needing investment were gathered, closely following Percy on his inspection.
After reviewing the commercial street's scale and activities, Percy frowned, dissatisfied.
Immediately, someone from the Baker family stepped forward to introduce their company's projects.
Percy listened patiently, then looked around, "I'm honored to be sent here by my company to attract investment to A City. But honestly, I'm disappointed. In the current internet age, A City remains in its traditional business model. I think we should explore combining the internet with business to discover more possibilities."
A reporter asked, "A City has its unique feature, the detective reasoning industry. How can we integrate this with the internet?"
Percy frowned slightly, "That's for you to figure out. I'll give an example: recently, I found a live stream on a platform focused on detective reasoning. Its data is impressive. This could be something for you to consider."
This caused an uproar.
Percy's expression remained unchanged. He whispered something to the government officials and then headed to his car.
