"You look stunning tonight, Mrs. Perkins. I bet the reporters will finally have something nice to write."
As they stepped out of the elevator, Alexander cast a few meaningful glances at Caitlin, gently tightening his grip on her soft, pale hand. He leaned in slightly, his voice teasing by her ear, "Still, not as hot as you in my shirt."
Caitlin shot him a side-eye. "You're way too smug for someone who only scored one win, Alexander."
Just then, the elevator dinged open. Samantha stepped out with a dry smile tugging at her lips. "Too early for that celebration," she muttered, walking away without a glance back.
Alexander's entrance instantly became the center of attention. Samantha took the moment to disappear into a quieter corner, her eyes sweeping the room, on alert for the two-faced couple who had swindled Caitlin's company.
Not far from her, a group of young socialites were deep in chat, their voices pitching up the second they spotted Alexander. Their eyes lit up like fairy lights
