Finlay's tail remained wrapped around Analise's wrist, the tip lightly brushing against her arm. His breathing had grown noticeably heavier.
"That depends on the female's wishes," Finlay said softly, lifting his gaze to meet hers. His pale gray eyes shimmered faintly, as if on the verge of tears.
Analise glanced down at her hand, which was still gripping his tail, and quickly let go with a smile. "Did I hurt you?" she asked.
"No." Finlay shook his head, his voice earnest. "Ana, can I be your mate?"
