Chapter 107 It Cost a Life
Veronica quickly raised a hand to cover her face.
At that critical moment, Gregory's phone rang. He lowered his head and freed one hand to grab his phone.
The second his attention slipped, Veronica shoved him lightly. She used her hair to shield the right side of her face and bolted.
By the time Gregory reacted, she was already out of the room.
He stared after her, his brows drawn tight. Something was off. Why was she so afraid to face him head-on?
And for a split second, he wasn't sure if he had imagined it, but her skin had looked fairer.
Before he could think it through, the phone kept ringing, pulling him back to the present. He stopped dwelling on Veronica and answered the call.

Veronica didn't stop running until she reached her car. She finally let out a long breath.
At this rate, she couldn't risk removing the dark spots at home anymore. It was too dangerous.
Without wasting another second, she started the car and headed straight for Dawnlight Medical Center.
