"Esme, watch out!" I shouted loudly in a last attempt to warn her about the oncoming attack. My eyes focused on the blonde wolf behind her. I was to late. My wolf broke free just as then blonde wolf bit into Esme's side, the sickening sound of her ribs cracking sounded through the clearing and bounced off of the trees as if to taunt me. The whine of her wolf turned into a human scream, filled with so much pain that it would forever be engraved in my mind.
