      I watched from where I stood in the corner of the room, slouched against the wall with my tense arms folded across my chest, my feet over one another at my ankles.

  

      I stared at the unconscious figure lying still on the infirmary bed. She was too still, her body hadn't moved by itself in so long as those that I had allowed to visit her had often held her hand and placed it down for her. Her mother bathed her fragile body twice a day for the past week ever since she had lost consciousness after I had marked her.

  

      A frown made its way onto my face as I recalled that Esme had woken up complaining about how hot she was after I had marked her. My wolf and I had been ecstatic that Esme had allowed us to claim her as our own and our mark still sat proudly on her neck, the once red marks had now faded into a pale pink that would stay there forever.



  Logan helped me stand to my feet before he reached for the hem of the t-shirt I wore. I wanted to stop him and tell him that I could do it myself but my arms felt heavy at my sides and I allowed Logan to remove the t-shirt I wore and with one swift movement he had lifted it up and over my head. He didn't make any other move to remove my underwear as he knocked my knees out from under me and lifted my bridal styles so that he could easily lower me into the tub.

  

      The cold water instantly covered my entire body and I found myself sinking lower into the bath tub until only my head could be seen above the water and bubbles.
