Elias narrowed his eyes and shoved Isabella aside, voice laced with frustration. "Move. I'm in a hurry."
She wasn't ready to give up. Reaching for his arm again, she held tight. "Eli, you and Emma already broke up. Why are you still chasing after her? She's not your responsibility anymore. Please, don't go. Lurellia is dangerous. I'm begging you... just stay."
For a brief second, something dark flickered in Elias' gaze — resentment, sharp and cold. He stared at her like he was staring through her, like she disgusted him. His eyes were like ice, and the look made Isabella's heart seize. Her hand dropped involuntarily.
He didn’t say a word, just spun around and slid into the car, tires screeching as he sped off.
Isabella stood there stunned, as if rooted to the spot.
