"Camila, what happened to your hand?"
Beatrice, who was sorting vegetables in the kitchen, suddenly paused and looked over at Camila's wrist, brows tightening slightly.
Camila had just showered and changed into a soft cotton house dress, sleeveless. Her pale skin looked almost translucent under the sunlight streaming in through the window. Even though the bruise had faded quite a bit, it still stood out against her fair skin.
"Ah, I just bumped into something," Camila turned off the tap and smiled casually, as if it were nothing.
The marks weren't distinct anymore, so her explanation sounded convincing.
"On the boat?" Beatrice asked, eyeing her suspiciously.

Camila froze for a beat, but quickly regained her composure.
"Yeah, it happened on the boat. My classmate rented a fishing one. The deck was slippery. I slipped and hit my hand on the rail. It really wasn't a big deal-it's just a bruise, give it a couple of days."
