By the time they pulled up in front of Prescott Ellington’s villa, it was already past three in the afternoon.
With little Lottie asleep in her arms, Camila Harrington had just reached for the door handle when Prescott opened it from the outside.
“Give her to me. You’ve been holding her the whole ride—your arms must be dead by now.”
“I’m not that—” She didn’t even get the word “tired” out before Prescott leaned in and gently but firmly took Lottie from her arms.
Camila shot him a glare, all annoyance, but with Lottie still fast asleep, she didn’t dare protest too much. She let him hold her.
Prescott looked down at the sleeping toddler, her cheeks all soft and pink, and the curve of his lips turned oddly tender.
As Camila stepped out of the car with her overnight bag, she caught that fleeting expression. A pang hit her. She quickly dropped her gaze to hide the emotions that had suddenly bubbled up.
