"You're finally home, have a seat..." Dorian said, but halfway through his sentence, his eyes dropped to their clasped hands, and he blinked, visibly stunned.
He had that naturally stern look, and when his gaze sharpened like that, it felt a bit icy.
Beatrice nudged his side lightly.
Dorian didn't even realize how intense his expression was-like he might charge up and yank their hands apart or something. It made Beatrice want to laugh.
Wasn't it just earlier that he said Camila was at the age to be dating? Now look at him-ready to eat someone alive. Talk about changing faces faster than flipping a page.
Dorian let out an awkward chuckle, his expression easing. "Sit down, Prescott, no need to stand on ceremony."
"Thank you, sir." Prescott kept his polite, charming smile the entire time, acting every bit the ideal son-in-law meeting the parents. Camila sat there blinking at him, honestly a little thrown.
