Chapter 17
The familiar voice made Adonis freeze. He rubbed his eyes and finally saw who was standing before him.
Without thinking, he blurted, "Is that you, Sis-In-Law?"
The moment Meredith heard him address her that way, a wave of discomfort washed over her instantly. She said huffily, "You've already gone back to the Solheim family. Don't call me that from now on."
From her tone, Adonis could tell that she was angry. Nevertheless, he didn't understand why she would suddenly say such a thing. Didn't he call her "Sis-In-Law" or "Sis" even back when his parents were alive?
Aside from his rebellious phase at 17 and 18 when he'd been upset after she rejected his confession, he stubbornly called her by her first name a few times. But at other times, he'd always addressed her as "Sis" respectfully.
He couldn't figure out why and was worried she might just be saying it out of anger. Not daring to upset her further, he softened his voice and said, "Sis, could you let go of me, please?"
