The one who stepped into the secretary's office was none other than Celestia' boss, Dexter.
Without pausing, he walked straight up to her, stared at her for about three seconds, then asked,
"Something on your mind?"
"Huh?" Celestia looked up from the papers in her hands, catching his concerned gaze. She hesitated, then asked softly, "Is it that obvious?" She had tried hard to keep those thoughts at bay.
Dexter gave a faint smile and pointed out, "Your eyes and fingers are moving, but the file's not even open. Unless you've got a photographic memory, I'd say your mind's somewhere else."
Celestia glanced down, and sure enough-the file she was supposed to be translating hadn't even been opened. "Sorry," she said with a nervous chuckle and hurried to open it.
Seeing her flustered, Dexter's tone softened. "No need to apologize. Honestly, I should be thanking you." His steady, gentle gaze landed on her face, as if he didn't want to look away even for a second.
His voice held a hint of warmth
