With tears in his eyes, Taylor bowed deeply to both Dominic and Abigail, handing the leash to a nearby housekeeper.
"Clover, be a good dog, okay? Goodbye."
After a brief farewell, Taylor straightened up, giving Abigail one last lingering glance before reluctantly turning to leave.
Once Taylor had gone, Aiden emerged from the side door.
"Don't be upset," he said gently, giving Abigail's shoulder a reassuring pat. "Corporate spies have no morals. They'll do anything to get what they want.
"Don't blame your father. It was me who asked him to call you back on short notice. I didn't want them taking advantage of being alone with you."
Abigail shook her head, her heart heavy with confusion. "I don't think Juliet is that kind of person."
