Sophie, not responding immediately, glanced towards Gabriel and Edward. Both father and son looked visibly upset, especially Gabriel, whose bruised face was a mask of anger. He felt unfairly treated, being expelled from the family just after his return. Despite Joseph's hint of a temporary ban, the public humiliation stung deeply. Turning to Henry, Sophie caught his subtle nod of approval and understood his support. She had to be firm, despite not wanting to be harsh, knowing that any softness now would make her future at The Mitchell and its company difficult. Leah, worried Joseph might change his mind, urged Sophie to agree quickly. Sophie consented to Joseph's decision but also wanted to address the family. "Everyone knows I married Henry, and he's been through a lot as part of The Mitchell. I won't hold past insults against us, but from now on, I expect no mockery of either of us," she said firmly. "If I can't help The Mitchell out of this crisis, I'll leave the family for good."
