Lucien froze, hand midway through its motion. "Admitted?" His voice tensed, a hint of panic creeping in. "What happened to her? She was fine-how did it get to this point?" The doctor sighed, handing him the medication. "Acute gastritis. Most likely from skipping meals and pushing herself too hard." He gave Lucien a pointed look. "You young folks always think you're invincible. I heard from the nurses-Miss Godfrey barely did anything but work with her laptop when she was awake. If you're her boyfriend, maybe keep a closer eye on her." Lucien walked out of the hospital in a daze. Never in a million years did he think Calliope would end up in the hospital without telling him a word.
