After the meal, Jonah couldn't shake off the faint floral scent lingering on Tara.
Tara stayed focused on her work. Even when Soren raised his brows at her from across the table, she acted as if she didn't see it.
If she gave Soren even a single glance, he'd definitely stir something up.
Lance had gotten used to looking up and seeing Tara sitting across from him. But when he looked up today, he couldn't see her. Jonah's tall frame had blocked her completely.
He pressed his lips into a thin line as he glanced at Tara sitting diagonally across. After that, he didn't look at her again.
Night fell, and light rain started to drift down when Shawn returned. The moisture in the air soaked into everyone's clothing, leaving everything damp.
Terence quickly instructed her to take an umbrella and fetch Shawn. Tara picked up the umbrella by the entryway and jogged into the rain. She reached the car just as Shawn was getting out.
