Lance kept looking at his book as he sat on the couch. Even though Tara was standing in the middle of the room, he didn't look up or say anything. It made her even more nervous.
She didn't know why she felt that way, but her instincts told her that Lance was dangerous.
After a while, he finally looked up slowly. He placed his book on the coffee table before leaning back against his couch with his legs crossed. His hands were on his thighs, and he looked elegant. He was staring at her calmly with his dull gaze.
Tara didn't dare to look him in the eyes at all. Just as she was about to say something while facing the ground, he asked solemnly, "Why did you tell Stella to send it?"
She answered, "Stella and I have our own tasks allocated to ourselves. She's in charge of taking care of you and Mr. Pearson, while I'm taking care of Mr. Wilhelm and Mr. Farrell. So… That was why I told her that you had requested a glass of milk to be delivered this morning."
