From Jenny's perspective, this thing was basically locked in. Getting engaged to Beckett was a win-win at every angle.
Plus, there was no real reason for Beckett to turn it down. Stanton had already given his blessing—and said it out loud to the press.
If Beckett said no or tried to backtrack now, it'd be like slapping his father in the face in public.
His position within the Beach Group wasn't exactly rock solid anyway—more like hanging by a thread. If he wasn't careful, Ruby and Clinton could end up walking away with everything meant to be his. A strategic alliance through marriage was probably the only reliable way to secure his place and value at the company.
So really, unless Beckett had lost his mind, there was no way he'd refuse.
