Chapter 8
I thought I would never cross paths with Zachary again. However, Jirnumia wasn't as big as Quinton. Two days in, I ran into him.
What a coincidence. He didn't look like he was here for work, and I certainly didn't look like it either.
I warmly greeted him in Jirnum, "Hello."
Zachary froze on the spot. "Do you speak Jirnum?"
Before I could respond, my mom stepped up and greeted him. "You brat, I know Jirnum too."
She completely cracked me up. Zachary's face turned paler by the second. He must have remembered that I grew up in Jirnumia.
"How much do you know?"
I repeated the conversation I heard on my daughter's birthday, word for word.
When I finished, he blurted, "It was just a joke."
I let out a cold laugh and pulled up the messages with Jennifer. "What about these? Are these jokes as well?"
Zachary snatched my phone. His face went completely ashen. He swayed, nearly dropping my phone to the ground. He lowered his head, his voice barely audible. "I'm sorry…"
I found it fun
