"Selena, I'm back—" Halfway through his sentence, Edmund's voice abruptly cut off. The bedroom before him felt strangely empty. The wardrobe, dressing table, and drawers were all bare. It was as if no one had ever lived there. Just as he was about to turn and leave, his gaze was suddenly drawn to a red file on the table. With a frown, he walked over. The moment he saw the words "Divorce Certificate", his heart clenched violently. He couldn't believe that Selena would resort to such scare tactics. To think that she faked this to get at him! He had never signed any divorce papers, nor had he been to the courthouse. How could there possibly be a divorce certificate? Edmund kept reassuring himself that it wasn't true.
