In Syldoria, Edmund collapsed in a fit of rage and remained unconscious for an entire day and night. Upon regaining consciousness, he disregarded the doctor's advice and insisted on being discharged from the hospital so he could return home. Having returned home, he immediately locked himself in his bedroom, neither eating nor drinking, and refused all visitors.
Having exhausted all other options, Christian had no choice but to enlist Michael's help to reason with Edmund.
Upon entering the bedroom, Michael was immediately startled by the sight before him. Edmund was lying on the bed, his face a canvas of pallor, his cheeks gaunt and sunken, and his eyes fixed upon the ceiling with an empty, lifeless stare.
Had it not been for the subtle, almost imperceptible rise and fall of Edmund's chest, Michael would have mistaken him for a corpse. He was even more forlorn than when Claire had rejected him.
