The slap came just as Kiera was bending down to take off her shoes. The force knocked her off balance, and she stumbled, almost falling to the floor. "Are you crazy, Kevin?" Kiera touched her stinging cheek and yelled. She had never been slapped like this before. Just then, their parents walked in, shocked by the scene before them. Kevin's face was ashen. He had to take several deep breaths to suppress his rage. "I went to the Harrington family, and they told me why our partnership is over." Kiera looked slightly guilty as he spoke. "Why? What happened?" Mateo asked anxiously. "Because Kiera bullied Jeannie, their long-lost daughter," Kevin replied solemnly. "It wasn't because of her badmouthing them?" Mateo asked in surprise. Kevin shook his head and responded in a deep voice, "No. Also, Trevor has decided to cut ties with me." He was obviously in a terrible mood. "Why?
