Chapter 1088
"We still have Hesper and Rickard to rely on, don’t we?" Camille lowered her gaze and helped Sherese lay back in the bed. "Pierette still dreams of making her way back to Leafdelle Island, but do you really think the Savatiers would take her back with open hands if they knew that she was still alive?"
Both of them knew that this would certainly not happen.
"The Moreaus do owe your mother one, but what does that have to do with Pierette?" There was a hint of lucidity beaming out of Camille’s eyes, then followed by a moment of coldness. "I hate it the most when others threaten me."
Sherese sighed, and Camille immediately continued, "Have some faith in Hesper and Rickard. They might have achieved something to secure themselves a top spot on Leafdelle Island."
Sherese did not doubt this; those two would surely make their way to the top no matter where they went. But in such a short amount of time, it would be considered good enough for them to just gain a firm foothold on Leafdelle Island
‘After all, this is Leafdelle Island that we’re talking about.’
...
"Dr. Rivera, you’ve come?"
Everything was going according to Sherese’s imagination. Hesper, who had just secured Rickard and herself a spot on the island after overcoming heaps of great difficulties, was ushered into the villa by Shinra, and all members of the Rikihisa family bowed their heads respectfully to greet her.
‘Mr. Rikihisa’s attitude toward Ms. Rivera was totally different yesterday, but his attitude changed in just under one day. Ms. Rivera must possess some skills that caused all this change. Perhaps she really has the ability to cure Master Rikihisa!’
Even if the people present were all fools, they still knew that if Hesper were to successfully cure Shun, her status on Leafdelle Island would surely skyrocket in the future. After all, the words of the Savatiers’ previous employees might be unreliable, but the words that came out of their patriarch’s mouth should be very believable!
Hesper was the only one who could cure the side effects of the hallucinogenic drug. If anyone were to oppose her, that was equivalent to going against everyone on the entire Leafdelle Island who had been affected by the hallucinogenic drug, was it not?
Hesper frowned at her newly-gained title and Shinra’s flattering attitude. "Just call me Hesper. There’s no need for you to be this polite. We’re only engaged in a cooperative relationship, so what we’re doing here is only exchanging needs."
Now that Hesper was holding the entire lifeblood of the Rikihisas in her hands, there was no way that Shinra would have the guts to treat her rudely, so he could only smile flatteringly.
"Father fell back into a coma again last night, and he hasn’t woken up since then. So will he return to normal after today’s treatment?"
"Yes." Hesper nodded. "But that doesn’t mean that Master Rikihisa will be able to maintain a normal biological clock just like any ordinary person starting tomorrow. After all, he’s been in a coma for a long time, and it’ll take time for him to adjust to everything.”
‘These are almost insignificant!’
"That’s nothing at all. As long as Father’s health condition can be improved." Shinra nodded happily. "Then please come in. I’ve prepared everything that you asked for, and you can start the treatment at any time."
Hesper walked into the room, finally escaping Shinra’s endless compliments, and could not help but rub her ears.
She used to think that Juliette was quite a loquacious person, but she did not expect Shinra to outshine her when it came to talkativeness.
Hesper had not experienced the other aspects of Leafdelle Island in-depth, but she now finally understood why the four big clans wanted Vitalis so much.
‘When the patriarch of a family dies, the entire family dies with him.’
After a day of treatment, the improvement in Shun’s condition was on the expected track. In just two days, it was as if he had been brought back to life. Vitalis seemed to have been created only to treat the side effects of the hallucinogenic drugs. All the toxins in the patients’ bodies would disintegrate as soon as they got in touch with the chemical composition of Vitalis.
When Shun opened his eyes again, he indeed felt that his mind was much clearer than before, and it felt rather similar to what Hesper had explained to him. The way he looked at Hesper was also a little different now.
