Chapter 1108
What Sherese said was similar to what Camille told them earlier. Camille probably made up a lie to help Sherese hide her identity.
Sighing, Hesper asked, "Are you not planning to come clean about your identity? I think Rickard noticed something. If you come clean, the Savatiers will take you in."
Sherese shook her head hesitantly. "Mom said living the way I am isn't necessarily a bad thing, as I might lose my freedom if I return to the Savatiers. I want to fulfill my mother's final wish."
"...Final wish?" Hesper's heart dropped as Sherese looked down.
"Yes, my mom is no longer around because of the hallucinogen… I wish we had met you and had Vitalis when it happened."
Hesper didn't expect that. They must have gone through a lot. Rickard's mother surely had her reasons when she left the Duvals, but wouldn't' this be too cruel to Rickard?
Hesper clenched her fist. The hallucinogen again. That drug caused families to break apart. If not because of it, they would have grown up happy and healthy instead of ending up in their current broken state.
"Alright, I won't tell Rickard who you are for now, but I can't do anything if he guesses it on his own." Hesper stretched out her hand and grabbed Sherese's wrist. "I'll find out who is behind the hallucinogen. I promise I'll give closure to everyone, including myself."
"Alright, I believe you."

When Camille returned with the ID, she realized the way Hesper looked at her was different. She was more cautious and inquisitive, but now she was relaxed and her eyes were gentler.
Camille looked at Sherese, confused. Sherese cleared her throat. "She knows."
Camille was surprised; that was Sherese's biggest secret and it meant the world to her. She didn't expect Sherese to tell Hesper, but that meant she trusted her.
Camille took the ID out of her pocket without saying more.
"I brought it back, don't worry." Camille handed it to Sherese, who sighed in relief. She was glad she hadn't forgotten it somewhere else.
"It went pretty smoothly, but I bumped into a weird man on the way back. He was suspicious."
Hearing that, the two other women looked toward her. She told them what happened and intentionally drew attention to his handsome face. He didn't look like a regular person.
But who on Leafdelle was regular?
Hesper frowned while Camille continued. "I paid extra attention to his face, so I'll recognize him if I see him again."
"It's getting complicated here, so being careful is the right way to go."
Hesper told them about the situation on Leafdelle. Sherese and Camille were both clever women, so if they didn't have ulterior motives, having them there would be helpful.
Hearing what Hesper said, they both understood the situation. Half of the success was thanks to Hesper, so they couldn't help but feel amazed.
To think that the pair had thought Hesper wasn't having much success here. They gulped, realizing they underestimated her big time.
