Chapter 1110

Since Camille took the identity that wasn't hers, Hesper and Shrese decided to just go along with it and let Ranfik think Camille was Brigette's estranged daughter. They wanted to see what he planned to do. Now she had to go meet Quincey; she felt nervous. Quincey was at the door when she opened it. Although he didn't look different from his usual self, she could tell from his actions that he was more careful and nervous. He was probably excited to meet his newest descendant. Furthermore, it was Brigette's daughter. "I—" Hesper cut him off. "Are you trying to verify the authenticity of the rumor?" Quincey smiled sadly and fell silent. Hesper pushed, then said, "It's not true. I spread it so that Ranfik thinks Camille is Brigette's daughter." Hearing that, Quincey's face fell in disappointment. "I thought…" Quincey didn't continue what he wanted to say but just smiled sadly. "It makes sense. If Brigette had a child, why would she abandon her identity and stay adrift? I was being illogical." Hesper didn't tell Quincey the truth because that was what Sherese wanted. Quincey recovered and said, "I heard you want to make Lamarie a bride candidate for Ranfik, and now you're spreading a rumor. Do you have other plans in mind?" "I do." Hesper nodded. Things changed quicker than her plans, but Ranfik had given her a new idea. The Lamarie plan only happened because there weren't any other candidates from the Savatier family who could marry Ranfik, but now that 'Brigette's daughter' was a viable option, it would change everything. There would be no question as to whether the families would be a good match. Hesper told Quincey her plan because, to give Camille her identity, they had to get Quincey's approval. Even though he was disappointed, he had to admit Hesper's plan was good, so he nodded. "Alright, I approve." Hesper smiled. Although they had no idea what Ranfik's plan was, Camille would have a better chance compared to Lamarie, and since Lamarie wasn't really up for the plan to begin with, this was the only way. With Quincey's approval, everything became easier. Hesper announced Camille's new identity to the Savatiers. Most of them were surprised to see Camille's face, but they thought it was a "reasonable" explanation. Camille and Rickard were supposed to pretend to be husband and wife then, later on, announce they were siblings. The plan only changed because of Hesper. Hesper was amused after hearing the these "reasonable" explanations. However, they worked for her. Soon after, the rumor would spread like the seeds of a dandelion into everyone's ears. After returning to their courtyard, Hesper saw Rickard waiting for her and was relieved. They could trick anyone except Rickard. "Did you just come back from Quincey's place?" he asked. Hesper nodded. Rickard put a coat on her back. The temperature had been dropping quickly around that time at Leafdelle. She would sometimes forget to bring a coat like she always would, so Rickard didn't ask a lot of questions.
