Chapter 1129
With a hesitant nod, Camille followed Ranfik's subordinate to the changing room, leaving only Hesper and the designer among a pile of dress samples, creating an eerie atmosphere.
"When we meet, Ranfik, do you really intend to hide behind someone else's face?"
The designer was surprised, but soon a familiar voice rang out. "How did you know it was me?"
Hesper curved her lips, but her eyes showed no hint of amusement. "Next time, if you deign to impersonate someone else, at least adjust your attitude. You address me as Ms Rivera, yet call Rickard's name directly. On today's island, no one would be foolish enough to pull such a stunt, right?"
Ranfik chuckled, drawing closer. "Since you've discovered my true identity, do you dare to meet me alone?"
"What's there to be afraid of?" Hesper replied calmly.
She came out with Camille today and everyone knew about it. All of Camille's safety outside was ensured by Ranfik himself. If something happened to her, it would be difficult for Ranfik to shake off suspicion.
"No choice then. You're indeed smart, Ms. Rivera. I can't fool you." Ranfik smiled. "You should already know by now, Mr. Tucker has chosen to cooperate with me. Yesterday, not many people went to the Savatiers to buy your medicine, so I suppose your mood isn't very pleasant now."
"If you're here to declare your success to me, then I must say you're wasting your efforts."
Hesper gazed steadily at Ranfik. Indeed, what happened yesterday was a blow to her, but not because of Ranfik or Nathaniel. It was because she had become too complacent after enjoying stability on the island for so long. This was her own fault. She wasn't defeated by Ranfik but by herself.
Seeing the flicker of light in Hesper's eyes, Ranfik seemed to understand what she was thinking, and his excitement grew.
'She truly is an interesting person.'
"Hesper, if you're willing to cooperate with me, I'll offer you something even better." Ranfik's usually mild expression momentarily turned fervent. "The Savatiers have no relation to you, and you should realize that. There's no need to be bound by the Savatiers."
Compared to the Mustafas, the Savatiers seemed like a disorganized small clan. As long as there were a few capable individuals, Hesper and Rickard would not have to personally handle everything.
Frowning, Hesper felt even more out of place.
What was Ranfik doing trying to meddle in their relationship?
"You and Rickard no longer have any real marriage ties. You can join the Mustafas anytime, so join me," Ranfik said, looking at Hesper while extending his hand. With the vintage wedding gown behind him, he resembled a prince from the medieval era.
However, Hesper would not be swayed by everything before her. Her gaze remained clear and composed.
"If I were to join you, what benefits would you offer me?" she asked.
Prior to this, Nathaniel had already collaborated with Ranfik. He harbored a deep hatred for the Lanes and must have asked Ranfik to destroy everything related to the Lanes, including her, a daughter of the Lanes
"You're talking about Nathaniel, aren't you?" Ranfik mused for a moment and then smiled.
