Chapter 474

After meeting with Andrew, Melody rarely went out and would only do so for her treatment appointments. No one else knew her exact departure date, and neither did she didn't want to make a big deal out of it. She just wanted to leave quietly. She only let Felicia know, but Felicia didn't say much. She simply asked, "Will you ever come back to Jembina?" Melody paused for a moment before answering, "Maybe." Jembina was like a swamp to her. Even the air felt sticky and suffocating. She wanted nothing more than to escape. Felicia hesitated and asked, "So, you've really decided to cut things off with Jeremy? Are you sure you can let go?" Felicia had always known how deeply Melody had loved Jeremy. She and Jason had both disapproved of it. But Melody had loved him for so many years. Could she really let go? Melody was quiet for a while. Then, she softly answered, "Loving someone is exhausting, and it made me limit myself too much. Felicia, I just want to figure out who I really am."
