“Louise, I’m afraid I can’t make it for lunch again today. There’s a board meeting at noon,” Dominic Ellis said over the phone, his voice laced with guilt. He had already missed lunch with her the day before. He couldn’t help but wonder if she had actually eaten properly. Louise Bennett responded without hesitation, “No worries. Work comes first, I get it. I’ll take care of myself, don’t stress.” Hearing how understanding she was only made Dominic feel worse. “Alright... Once this busy stretch is over on my end and things are settled on yours, I’ll take you abroad for a proper trip. Make up for all this.” Louise smiled at that. “Deal.
